About the movement
Using evidence-based interventions to make the world a more loving and forgiving place
The Global Forgiveness Movement is an initiative of the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University.
- We take a tested modelOne of the most widely tested models of forgiveness in psychology.
- Put it into free workbooksFree to download, print, share, and translate.
- And help people work through itPeople and communities everywhere, on their own or in groups.
What we believe
We believe in a world where everyone is skilled at forgiving. Not a world without wrongdoing, and not a world where wrongs go unnamed — forgiveness is compatible with accountability, truth, and justice.
How we work
We start with rigorous research, turn it into free materials, and put those materials in the hands of the people and communities who carry them. Everything we publish is grounded in evidence, and all of it is given away.
Where we are going
We are heading into every willing heart, home, and homeland. Our materials already exist in the primary languages of more than two-thirds of the world’s population.
